FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We highly recommend reading our FAQs before applying to our agency. It will help you understand what to expect and ensure that you are well-informed about our requirements and offerings.

How does Bright Lights Rep Work?

We’re passionate about discovering exceptional young talent, and we take pride in being selective about the children we represent. We’re looking for kids who not only have a strong potential to book work but who can also confidently speak English with little to no accent. Every application is carefully reviewed, and if your child’s application meets our criteria, you’ll hear from us within 2 weeks. If we believe your child might be a great fit for our agency, we’ll invite them to the next exciting step—a personalized in-person assessment! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to meet your child face-to-face, observe their unique personality, and see how they respond in an environment similar to a real casting session. All parents should thoroughly read the FAQ's to be sure they and their child would be suitable for the industry

Does the agency charge any fees?

Bright Lights Rep does not charge any registration or website fees

How does the agency earn money?

Bright Lights earns from commission. We take 10-20% commission on all fees depending on the project.

Once my child is registered, are they guaranteed work?

Unfortunately not, no agency is able to guarantee work. Our dedication is to our clients to provide them with a full and varied portfolio of awesome kids. In the end the client makes the decision of who they choose for their projects.

What happens once my child is registered?

We will be constantly on the lookout for projects and opportunities for your child. If your child is chosen—whether for a casting/audition, a shoot, or another exciting opportunity—we’ll reach out to you immediately. To ensure a smooth process, it’s essential that parents keep us updated on any changes, no matter how small. This helps us represent your child as effectively as possible and ensures no opportunity is missed!

Does Bright Lights accept everyone?

Unfortunately, not. Aside from our specific requirements, our aim is to personally know all of our talent so we are particular in who we select.  Toddlers - We’re looking for little ones with calm, easygoing personalities who feel happy and at ease in front of the camera. They should be comfortable interacting with strangers, enjoy being handled by others, and adapt well to new or busy environments without becoming easily upset. Children and Teenagers- We seek confident, well-behaved kids who love being in front of the camera and enjoy meeting new people.

My child has been invited to a casting, what does it mean?

Casting directors/production companies/ect. will invite children for a casting/audition, usually taking place during the day and into after school hours or online via self tape.  This does not mean they have the job, it is a chance for the client to choose the right child and make a shortlist for the job. Your child will be asked to either memorize lines in a scene (TV, FILM) or to improv some action on the spot (COMMERCIALS). This industry moves really fast, often times you'll be notified of the casting at the last minute. This could be a few days before, but could also be a few hours before. Please take this into account when deciding whether to apply with us.
